摘要
英语专业四级考试(TEM4)主要在检查教学大纲的执行情况以及评估教学质量方面发挥着重要的指导作用。学界也一直关注语言测试对教学可能产生的反拨效应。该文通过比较分析TEM4与英语专业基础英语课教学的有关联系,讨论其在教学内容的确定、教学方法的采用等方面所产生的影响,以期更好地发挥这一权威测试对教学的规范和促进作用。
TEM4 plays an important role of guidance in the evaluation of both the implementation of the teaching syllabus and the quality of relevant teaching. Meanwhile, mueh signifieanee is also attached to the "backwash effects" of language tests upon instruction and learning. This paper eonducts a detailed study on the interrelations between TEM4 and the teaching of Basic English and looks into the test' s possible effects on the selection of teaching materials and the adoption of teaching approaches, attempting to seek for better improvements on both the test and the instruction.
