FDI and Income Inequality in China:Evidence of Provincial Panel over 1987-2006

长期以来,FDI在中国的增长效应和技术扩散效应得到了较多关注,而理论界对其收入分配效应则关注较少。本文使用多种计量方法对FDI与中国收入不平等之间的关系和影响机制进行了实证分析,得到以下结果:(1)随着中国经济发展和FDI分布的产业及地域范围的逐步扩大,FDI对收入不平等的总体影响呈倒U型;(2)FDI在中国的收入分配效应存在明显的地区差异。

Relative to growth effect and spill-over effect on China, FDI’s income distribution effect has been neglected in a long time. This paper, employing several econometric methods, gives an empiric analysis to the relationship between FDI and income inequality in China. It is concluded as following: 1) The impact of FDI on income inequality shows as inverted U as more and more FDI have been introduced. 2) Regional disparity and time disparity of FDI on income inequality have been proved significantly.
