晋商常家在经营商业的过程中逐渐意识到文化、知识、智慧的重要性,并因此而自办学堂发展教育,以学保商。但常家更注重培养家族成员的优良品行,并印制《家训》以规范约束。其《家训》对我们今天的道德教育颇有启示。

The Chang family of Shanxi businessmen gradually became aware of the importance of culture, knowledge, wisdom during the process of commercial operations, and thus ran the schools, developed education in order to improve business by knowledge. However, Chang family paid more attention to training the excellent character of the members of the family and the family discipline was printed to regulate their behavior. The family discipline has much enlightenment to our moral education today.
