The Compensation of Cultural Default in Poetry Translation in the Perspective of Relevance Translation Theory

文化缺省是诗歌翻译中常见的问题。诗歌翻译的特点决定了在译文中对文化缺省进行补偿的重要性。关联理论提供了一种处理文化缺省问题的途径，即：翻译应该遵循最佳关联原则。直接翻译是由Gutt提出的如何有效地传达原文信息的一种翻译理念。通过找出原文中的语义、句法和语音交际线索，译者可以在遵循最佳关联原则的基础上对原文中的文化缺省进行补偿，从而最大限度地保留诗歌原文本的特征，解决诗歌原文中文化缺省的问题。

Cultural default is a frequent problem in poetry translation. Relevance theory offers an approach to dealing with such cultural default, that is, translation should observe the principle of optimal relevance. Direct translation proposed by Gutt is a translation theory for an efficient translation of the exact meaning of the source text. By figuring out the semantic, syntactic and phonetic communicative clues, translators can produce the translation which may best maintain the stylistic characteristics of the source text, a solution to the problem of the cultural default in poetry translation.
