Echinococcosis includes cystic echinococcosis（CE） and alveolar echinococeosis（AE） are parasitic zoonoses that can endanger human health and affect the breeding of livestock. This paper reviews the distribution of definitive hosts of Echinococcus and the status of infection, and it also discusses methods of testing for definitive hosts of infection.
