介绍了车牌识别的背景、意义和一般实现过程,叙述了车牌识别过程的特点和难点,阐述了小波变换的基本理论,详细地分析和论述了小波变换的特点以及在车牌识别中的应用,最后总结并对其在车牌识别技术中的应用前景进行了展望。
First, the background, significance and general implementation of vehicle license plate recognition（VLPR） are introduced. Then, the characteristics and difficult process are described.And then, basic theory of wavelet transform is expounded and the applications of wavelet transform in VLPR is analyzed and dissertated in detail. Finally, conclusion and suggestion on future research are given.
