This paper describes the necessity of using relative temperature difference determination method and demonstrates the relationship between the relative temperature difference and the relative deviation of the contact resistance. The standard for the determination criterion of relative temperature difference is established, and the diagnosis results by this method and criterion are compared with that by existing empirical determination criterion for several same practical examples.
