Approaching Self-reflexivity in A.S.Byatt's Academic Fiction

摘要 "虚构"这一话题于20世纪中期以来受到了文学界的密切关注。当代英国学院派作家A.S.拜厄特在其不同时期创作的学院派小说中,循序渐进地探讨了"虚构"的力量以及"虚构"与"现实"的张力,勾勒出"虚构"在人类生活以及文学话语中的强势存在,最终达到了对"虚构"的深度认识——"虚构"无处不在并影响着我们的生活,我们应理性看待"虚构",并将其转化为有利因素,服务于现实——突出了其学院派小说的自我指涉特征和她作为学院派作家的自省和理性。＂Fiction＂ is a subject that has received increasing attention in the lit- erary field since the mid-20th century. In her academic fiction written in different periods, A. S. Byatt gradually probes into the power of ＂fiction＂ and the tension between fiction and reality, giving a contour to the powerful existence of ＂fiction＂ in human life as well as in literary discourse, which finally leads to her deep understanding of ＂fiction＂. She maintains that ＂fiction＂ is everywhere and that we should rationally turn it into something beneficial to us. It is argued that Byatt＇s fiction is featured by self-reflexivity that distingui- shes her as an academic writer.
