科学和宗教能共存吗?

Whether or Not the Religion and Science Can Coexist

科学与宗教作为人类的文化现象从其产生起,两者之间就存在着复杂的辩证关系:既相互矛盾、冲突,又相互独立、促进,但在传统的观点中,往往夸大对立冲突的一面,认为科学与宗教是水火不相容的、势不两立的。其实,科学与宗教也有和平共处的一面,在某一时期还表现出二者之间的相互渗透、相互影响、相互利用:宗教生活不仅能满足人的精神需要,成为人类生活不可或缺的一部分,而且宗教还为个人和社会提供一种终极的思想价值观和追求目标。同时,宗教在某些具体问题的认识上包含着科学的内容,宗教信仰对人们进行科学研究具有巨大的激励作用,从而推动科学的发展。而科学的发展为社会提供了很多福利,宗教又可用这些便利的条件促进自身的发展。

As the phenomenon of human culture, there has been a complex dialectical relationship between science and religion since they came into being. There are not only contradictory conflicts but also independent improvement of each other while in traditional view. The contradictory aspect between science and religion was exaggerated for it is thought to be incompatible and irreconcilable. In fact, there is peaceful and compatible aspect. They show the interaction between infliction and mutual influence and mutual advantage. The religion not only meat people＇s spiritual needs which became an indispensable part of human life, further more, religion also provide an unlimited ideological values and goal for person and society. At the same time, religion contains scientific contents on some specific issues. Religion has great incentive on scientific research and gives impetus to scientific development. While the development of science provides many benefits foe society, religion can made good use of this convenient condition to improve itself. This paper makes a primary study on whether religion and science can coexist or not.
