This essay holds that there exists a cultural resonance between American poet Gary Snyder and Chinese poet Han-shan in Tan dynasty （618-970）. This essay explores the cultural resonance from the perspectives of behavior style, religious belief and poetic style. In fact, one of the reasons why the Han-shan poems translated by Gary Snyder have been canonized is due to the profound cultural resonance between Gary Snvder and HanShan.
