永久性植物状态的植物人,从严格的意义上来讲,仍然是人,他们也应该享有一定的权利。高昂的照顾费用和难有良好结果的预期,是植物人关照过程中的最大障碍。社会应建立一整套包括家属和其他社会成员广泛参与的植物人权益保障机制,发扬人道主义精神,使植物人安详无痛苦地渡过人生最后的阶段。
The vegetative being in persistent vegetative state （ PVS ） is after all human being in a serious sense, and thus should enjoy certain legal rights. However, expensive attending cost and poor prognosis constitute the greatest obstacles in the healthcare for vegetative beings.
