88 technical papers and products shown on well logging and formation evaluation during the SPWLA 50th annual logging symposium provide the base for tracing the latest advancement in logging technologies and formation evaluations in the past year. The advances include the researches about petrophysics and basic theories, new logging tools, new interpretation methods and comprehensive evaluation technologies on complex reservoirs. Then further discussion about the trend of international development on LWD,digital petrophysics is presented. The big lag from foreign countries in the logging technologies is the focus question.Based on the above analysis, some deep understandings and better suggestions have been finally made for improving domestic logging technologies.
