Preliminary Study on the Public Order Administration of Venues for Religious Activities

宗教活动场所的治安管理,是保障宗教事务及宗教活动的健康有序,保证宗教教职人员、信教群众和观光游客以及文物安全的需要,也是抵制境内外敌对势力利用宗教进行渗透和破坏的需要。作为社会治安的主管部门,公安机关依法对宗教活动场所进行治安管理是其职责所在。在西藏及拉萨,加强对宗教活动场所的治安管理对促进宗教事务和谐发展显得尤其重要。

The public order administration of venues for religious activities is the demand of maintaining the order of religious affairs and religious activities and ensuring the security of religious staff, religious people, tourists and cultural heritages. Meanwhile, it is also the need of deterring hostile forces inside and outside under the pretence of religion from infiltrating and sabotaging. As departments in charge of public order, public security organs have the duty to administer the public order of venues for religious activities in accordance with relevant laws. In Tibet, especially in Lhasa, strengthening the public order management of venues for religious activities is particularly crucial to promoting the harmonious development of religious affairs.
