Demisting function of fiber packed filter （FPF） was introduced. The discussions cover mechanism of the demisting function ; the structure of FPF ; selection of the fiber packing material ; determination of diameter of the fiber, bulk density of the fiber packing, and the height of the packing bed ; as well as the categories, demisting efficiency, calculation of pressure drop and installation of the FPF equipment. The application of FPF in SO3 sulfonation process, the problem happened as well as regeneration of the fiber packing was focused. All the discussions would cause the FPF users have an ample understanding about the equipment, so as to be able to adopt the equipment and to have correct use and maintenance as well as to bring full function of the equipment in SO3 sulfonation plant.
