In 1840, a monk named Khyentse Wangpo commenced a long journey around Tibetan inhabited areas to record Buddhist sites of the different sects of Tibetan Buddhism in his book entitled Records of the Historical Religious Sites in U-Tsang Area.
On hearing Reting Monastery,people always like to mention the uncountable big cypresses there.
