Analysis of Agricultural Trade Flows between China and Australia

中国和澳大利亚两国都是农产品生产大国,两国农产品贸易发展迅速,文章在分析中国与澳大利亚双边农产品贸易现状基础上,运用显示性比较优势指数、贸易互补性指数、产业内贸易指数对中国和澳大利亚国家农产品的比较优势、贸易竞争性、贸易互补性、产业内贸易程度进行测算。研究结果表明中澳农产品竞争性不强,竞争的农产品类别较少;双边农产品贸易主要是呈现互补性的。

China and Australia are both countries of agricultural production, and the agricultural trade between the two countries has developed rapidly. Based on the analysis of the bilateral trade status in agricultural products between China and Australia, and by using revealed comparative advantage indices, trade complementarity indices, intra-industry trade indices for China and Australia＇s comparative advantages of national agricultural products, trade competitiveness, trade complementarity, and the extent of intra-industry trade, the paper concludes that the competition of agricultural products between China and Australia is not strong, and that there are few categories of agricultural products which are competitive towards each other. The bilateral agricultural trade between them is mainly complementary.
