Objective: To investigate the risk factors of osteoporotic fracture in middle - aged to senile female patients. Methods: Totally 155 middle- aged to senile female patients with ostooporotic fracture, who were hospitalized in Fuxin central hospital recently, were selected. The patients with osteoporotic fracture were investigated for the risk factors of esteoporotic fracture within I week after hospitalization, and the results were compared with those of 128 female physical examinees of the same age. Results: The mean body mass index, the number of cases that often took part in physical activities, and the number of cases that took calcium agents for a long term in the patients with osteoporotic fracture were obviously fewer than those in the physical examinees. The mean smoking index in the patients with osteoporotic fracture was obviously higher than that in the physical examinecs (P all 〈 0.01 to 0.05) .Conclusion: The risk factors of esteoporotic fracture in middle - aged to senile female patients in the Fuxin area of Liaoning Province are associated with fewer physical activities, no use of calcium agent, smoking and low body mass.
