As the microcosm of the Dreyfus Affair, Anatole France＇s Grainquebille reflects French law and society at the end of 19th century. This paper, from the angle of jurisprudence, explores the so-called dignity of the legal form and the corrupted legal system behind it, and the separation of realistic justice and procedure justice; reflects the ignorance of human rights; and analyses the essence of legal spirit and the influence of public opinion, from which can be seen the progress of the view on human rights in the French history.
