20世纪20年代出现的开列"国学必读书目"热潮,是不同学派学人对待传统文化的不同态度和治学方法在整理国故领域中的具体体现。旧派与新人对于国学推荐书目的不同解读,以及为此产生的一些争论,一定程度上是他们自身对于国学研究内在理路思考的自然流露,也在某种意义上体现出他们对中西文化的不同态度以及对当时盛行的"科学方法"的不同理解。相关论争对当时风行全国学界的整理国故运动产生了深远影响。

The upsurge of listing must-read books in the 1920s reflected different attitudes of scholars towards traditional culture and their research methods in sorting out national cultural heritage. The new talents of the old schools＇ diverse interpretations of recommended books concerning sinology and the ensuing argument revealed, to some extent, their thoughts about the inherent theory of sinology studies, attitudes towards Chinese and Western culture, and their understanding of the popular ＂scientific method＂ of the time. The related argument had a profound impact on the prevailing campaign in the academic circle of sorting out national cultural heritage.
