Application of EDXRF Probe in the Technological Study on Ancient Ceramics

摘要 利用能量色散X射线荧光(EDXRF)探针技术,对取自湖北巴东旧县坪遗址的一件胎釉间带有一层白色物质的白瓷样品进行线扫描分析.结果表明,该白色层状物的化学组成与胎釉均有显著差异,且其化学组成与中国北方所产的以高岭石为主要矿物组成的黏土相符.因此,推断旧县坪遗址出土的这种白瓷胎釉间的白色层状物,是以高岭石为主要矿物组成的黏土制作的化妆土,而非在烧制过程中产生的反应层. Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) line scanning technology was adopted to analyze a white porcelain sample from Jiuxianping Site which had a layer of white substance between glaze and body to discuss the producing technology of this white substance. The results show that several chemical elements of this white substance are different from those of glaze and body, and the chemical composition of this white substance is similar to that of clay in which main mineral is kaolinite. So, it is concluded that the white substance between glaze and body is not a reaction layer, but a layer of cosmetic earth made of clay in which main mineral is kaolinite.
