Herta MUller＇s writings belong to the category of ＂barderline writings＂ of peripheral people. The indefinite ethnic and cultural identity provided her with a writing perspective different from those mainstream writers. Such a perspective crosses over the demarcation lines of ethnic groups, cultural and linguistic families and presents to the readers a prospect of mixed cultural elements.
