The State Administration of Foreign Exchange （SAFE） recent appointed Zhu Changhong, former hedge fund manager of Pacific Investment Management Co. （PIMCO）, as its chief investment officer. The administration supervises China＇s US $2.3 trillion foreign reserves. In his new role, Mr. Zhu will head SAFE＇s Reserve Management Department.
