波普宣称他杀死了逻辑经验主义。但逻辑经验主义实际上既没有被波普杀死,也没有死亡。对逻辑经验主义的最大挑战是历史主义的科学哲学及其后来的发展。逻辑经验主义的证实原则对于科学研究仍然有效,他的分析方法仍然是哲学分析的基本方法。科学哲学研究仍然沿用逻辑经验主义建立的概念系统,当代科学哲学所阐释的仍然是对逻辑经验主义提出的基本问题的进一步回答。

Karl Popper claims that he has killed logical empiricism,but in fact,logical empiricism is not killed by him if it was dead. Actually it is still alive. The most serious challenge to logical empiricism is from historicism and its later development in scientific philosophy. The principle of verifiability formulated by logical empiricists does still work in guiding science. The methods of logical analysis remain basic in philosophizing. The set of concepts which has shaped the philosophy of science as a discipline continues to be dominant in current studies in the philosophy of science. And its later developments in scientific philosophy are further attempts to answer the questions raised by logical empiricists.
