How to Study Language from a Philosophical Point of View

Human understanding of the nature of language has consisted of various theories of language since the ancient Greek. Modern logic provides a much more powerful weapon for philosophers to review the nature of language. Those philosophers, whether the Anglo-American or the Continental, consider discussions on language as an important key for dealing with crucial philosophical issues not dealt with in standard linguistic studies. It is significant for the progress in linguistics to study language from a philosophical point of view.
