Inhibin is a kind of glycoprotein hormone produced by the sex gland of animal, which exerts a negative feedback effect in the regulation of FSH secretion. Active and passive immunization of animal＇ s inhibin could enhance ovulation rate and litter size, this review highlights structure and function of inhibin, mechanism of action and its application in animal reproduction.
