In order to help the graduate students to apply the theories and methods in the pattern recognition field to settle biomedical problems, the paper explored the necessity and feasibility of opening a medical pattern recognition course for the graduate students major in biomedical engineering. The paper suggested the teaching content, teaching strategy and textbook in this course, which can facilitate the students to do their scientific research.
