This paper chooses the interaction of dialogues and stage directions as its research objects, takes the adapted Cooperation Principle and Maxims as its theoretical basis, and then explains the limitation of the traditional understanding of Waiting for Godot in terms d pragmatics. These will be good for the audience or readers to know the playwright＇s creative idea and to explore the literal and aesthetic values of the drama.
