电动机运转时间限制器是当电梯启动运行时,曳引机不转或轿厢或对重向下运动遇到障碍物而停住,导致曳引绳在曳引轮上打滑时使电梯驱动主机失电并保持在失电状态的设备。该设备应在不大于下列两个时间值的较小值时起作用:45s或者电梯运行全程的时间加上10s,若运行全程的时间小于10s,则最小值为20s电动机运转时间限制器对于保证电梯的安全运行具有很重要的作用,是电梯必不可少的一个安全部件。

The motor running time limiter is an equipment, which will make the lift machine power off and remain the state, when lift starts running, but the traction machine does not turn, or the car and the counter- weight encounters obstacles and stop downward movement, leading to the traction rope slipping on the traction wheel.
