With the methods of video playback, literature review and comparative analysis, a comparative analysis concerning the defending ability technical indicators like the scoring, shooting average, rebounds was made between the Chinese basketball team and its opponents. And the results indicate that the Chinese basketball still falls far behind the word＇s excellent teams in field goals, fouls, steals and fast break ere,. So it is strongly advised that we do a better job in respects of raising consciousness of defense, intensifying tarining of physical constitution and participating of more international basketball events, thus to help make a historic breakthrough of the Chinese national basketball.
