Literature and Authority——Gorky,Sholokhov,Solzhenitsyn and the Leaders of Soviet Union

By studying some related historical documents, this paper analyses the interactions between the three great contemporary writers with the national leaders of the Soviet Union, and points out the influence of the interactions on their separate ideology and literature creation in order to shed some light on the relationship between literature and the authority. Writers are expected to follow Solzhenitsyn＇ s example to shoulder the social responsibilities of literary intellectuals.
