Xi′an City′s Atlas is a comprehensive large scale urban atlas for scientific reference.It is a collection of the latest research achievements in geography,biology,economics and history of Xi′an .The Atlas of Xi′an has reached a high level in its content,forms,science and artistry.all the Atlas has 167 maps ,explanations of about 100 000 words,225 colour photos,47 lists and charts,58 sketches and about 5 200 entries of place index.In 1994,the Atlas of Xi′an was awarded the first prize at Chinas first appraisal of excellent geographic maps and books. The Atlas of Xi′an has brought forth new ideas.In the Atlas,there is a new structure model within complete form and logical arrangement.It has a comprehensive and integrate content system with notable synthetic and complex maps.There are varied expressive forms in the Atlas:its maps are bright ,lucid ,lively and attractive,and many photos,brief explanations,lists,charts and sketches are properly arranged among the maps.The Atlas has all kinds of map expressions,with some being creative.It is printed by advanced printing technology and process.In the making of the Atlas,the editors have revealed the regional characteristics of Xi′an.
