《尚书》的天人关系思想是中国天人关系思想的重要源头之一,其内涵丰富而深刻,对后世影响也极大;同时,它也是《尚书》历史思想的重要源头。《尚书》的"天"或"帝"等至上神并不具有"创世"和"完全的人格神"特征;"人"在《尚书》中的天人关系中占有主导地位。"天子"在《尚书》中的本义是"天之元子"而非"天之独子",但是后者在历史发展中逐步取代了前者。《尚书》中的天人关系带有浓厚的人本色彩和中国传统文化的独特印记。
