《世说新语》中“马融追杀郑玄”说议

《世说新语.文学》将"马融追杀郑玄"这样失之常理的事置于首篇,其原因可归结为:一是马融为外戚豪家,难免为士人轻视、排斥,而郑玄为纯正的经学世家,士人自然愿意与之亲近。二是马融达生任性;慢待士子及后学;党附梁冀,草章诬李固。这些行为招致士人的反感与不满。而郑玄则表现出士子们特有的操守与气节,赢得时人的尊重与赞扬。三是刘义庆借这样的故事"褒郑贬马",意在配合刘宋王朝倡导儒学,清算魏晋清谈之风和名士的纵情怪诞行为。
