当代中国特色社会主义事业正处在一个发展的关键时期,要推动中国社会的发展和进步根本上取决于党。要按照改革开放的基本路线和基本政策以及党的十六大、十七大的精神努力巩固党的执政基础和提高党的执政能力,必须要在政治上用"两个民主"推动发展和改革,在社会经济上真正解决贫富悬殊这个根本问题,在文化上对马克思主义、西方文化、中国传统文化及其相互关系有一个科学的态度和方法。

It is at a key phase of the contemporary socialism with Chinese characteristics. The Party is the essentially decisive factor to make China develop and progress. To consolidate the Party＇ s governance basis and to promote the Party＇ s governance capability according to the basic route and policies of reform and opening up, and the spirit of the 16th and 17th national congress of the CPC, it needs politically promoting development and reform through intra-party democracy and people democracy, socially and economically solving truly the essential issue of polarization of the rich and the poor, culturally treating scientifically with the Marxism, traditional culture and western culture.
