思想道德修养与法律基础是一门面向全体大学生开设的思想政治理论课程。教学这门课程,需要执教者从思想道德与法律基础的内涵和实质,内容结构,表现形式等方面把握好"思想道德修养"与"法律基础"的关系问题;把握好思想理论教育的知识性与意识形态性的关系即思想理论教育始于知识而不囿于知识,思想理论知识教育的目的与意识形态教育目标的同一性,坚持思想理论知识的教学与意识形态教育的辩证统一,正确处理好理论教学与实践教学关系问题。

Ideological moral cultivation and legal foundation is an ideological and political theory course set up for all university students. To teach this course, teachers should grasp the relationship between ideological moral cultivation and legal basis from the aspects such as their connotations and essence, content structures as well as manifestations, and grasp the relations between the knowledge of ideological theory and ideology in that the two are dialectically united： ideological theory starts from knowledge but not be limited to it and the two are with the same education purpose. And also teachers should properly deal with the relationship between theoretical teaching and practical teaching.
