Expanding Forest Resources is a New Path to Low-Carbon Economy——A Case Study in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area

文章从资源环境角度分析了三峡库区发展低碳经济的紧迫性及低碳经济之路面临着的诸多压力与挑战,通过对目前三峡库区森林生态系统有机碳密度及储量的研究,提出了在三峡库区提高森林质量、扩大森林面积是增强森林生态系统碳汇功能,促进低碳经济发展和构建生态文明社会的新路径。

This paper analyzes the urgency of developing low-carbon economy in Three Gorges Reservoir area,including the resources and environment,as well as a lot of pressure and challenges in the way to its low-carbon economy.To estimate the organic carbon storage in forest ecosystems.The present study revealed that both the quality and area of forest systems play an important role in determining the carbon storage.Hence,to enhance the carbon sink,to promote low carbon economic development and build a ecological civilized society,it is needed to improve the forest quality and to expend the forest area.
