The establishment of new punctuation has promoted the development of new literature. It provided supports for the vernacular to replace the literary language, and promoted the birth of new literature. The use of modem punctuation enabled ordinary readers to read articles, and thus introduced the popularity of new literature. The rhetorical functions of new punctuations tremendously increased the ＂literariness＂ of articles in new literature.
