摘要
本文通过对庞德关于意象的最初定义的不完整性、主体性意象叠加手法的局限性到威廉斯客体性意象并置的写作手法的创新性的论析,旨在探讨威廉斯是如何对庞德意象派诗歌进行继承和扬弃,从而推动美国现代主义诗歌逐渐走向后现代主义之途。
This paper aims to discuss William Carlos Williams' s contribution to American Imagism: his proper inheritance of Pound' s Imagism by critiquing Pound' s incomplete definition of Imagism and by replacing Pound' s limited subjective superposition of images with his own innovative objective juxtaposition of images, thus gradually pushing American modern poetry toward postmodernism.
