Beginning with the realities of English listening teaching in China and Relevance theory, the paper then makes analysis about how to use the relevance theory through the examples taking from CET4 listening conversations. Besides, the paper gives a brief account about how to cultivate the students＇ sensitivities from teachers and students： aspects, At last, the paper makes a conclusion that relevance theory will be helpful in practice.
