摘要
从独立主格的定义和演变过程出发,从一个完整的角度探讨英语中独立主格结构这一独特语法现象的特点、功能及应用,并对相关的一些易混淆的语法现象作出分析和比较。
Starting from its definition and evolution, the paper examined the features, functions and applications of nominative absolute construction, in order to probe into this unique English grammatical phenomenon from a comprehensive point of view. Some related confusing grammatical phenomena were also discussed and compared.
