在魏晋南北朝时期,由于士族在经济上和政治上处于特殊的地位,为了维护门第的庄严性和血统的纯洁性,这一时期的士族婚姻极重门第。但随着时间的流逝,这种在某种程度上具有合理性的婚姻观念和准则,逐渐暴露出诸多弊病,危害到门阀士族自身的发展,并加速其衰落。

Marrige life is an important part of human society. In the periods of Weijin and the North and South dynasties, because of their special economic and political positions and in order to maintain their noble status and linage, the nobles attached great importance to family status when choosing a spouse. However, as time went by, this attitude towards marrige, which at first was reasonable to some extent, appeared to be disadvatageous and detrimental to the nobles, and accelerated their decline.
