Based on the brief introduction of the flatness defects existing in medium and heavy plate production, the paper analyses in detail modem roll levelling technology for controlling flatness defects and technical features of typical leveler of modem levelling technology on design, describes the applications of modem roll type leveler in domestic medium and heavy plate rolling plants by summarizing the recent situation of rapidly developed medium and heavy plate production lines at home.
