Objective: To examine the effect of Kangaroo care on physiological and behavior indices in term neonate. Methods: A total of 120 eases of term neonate were randomly divided into the interventional and control group, each comprising 60 cases. The interventional group received the Kangaroo care, while the control group didn't receive any in- tervention. The heart rate and oxygen saturation were measured before, during and after blood drawing, crying status in varying time points was recorded between both two groups, and comparison was conducted. Results: The heart rates dur- ing and after blood drawing were significantly lower in the interventional group than in the control group, while the oxygen saturation was much higher, all showing significant differences between the two groups, P〈0.01. The crying status in varying time points after blood drawing of the interventional group were superior to those of the control group, all P〈0.01. Conclusion:Kangaroo care can assist in maintaining the physiological stabilization and relieving the pain in term neonate.
