The reasons of having unimpregnated strands in FRP products and their influence on product quality are discussed here. Through the study on the main steps for quality control in direct-melt E-glass fiber production, the factors causing unimpregnated strands in FRP products are analyzed, and the rules of causing unimpregnated strands due to different reasons are summarized, thus suggesting some measures for quality control in glass fiber production.
