On the Connotation Values and the Enlightenments of the Culture of Shame Sense

传统文化中的耻感对个人道德自身修养的提高和国家治理都曾发挥重要作用。对个人而言,耻感的树立是立人之本,耻感的养护是其道德安身之路,而对于国家治理来说,耻感的推行,是正民导俗之源,更是安邦之基。

The sense of shame in traditional culture has played an important role in the improvement of self-cultivation of an individual and the governance of a country.For an individual,the establishment of a sense of shame is the foundation and the conservation of this sense is the road to morality.For national governance,the promotion of a sense of shame is the source to keep good folk custom and the foundation of a country's peace.The culture of traditional shame sense,focusing on the personal self-cultivation methods of introspection,reflecting upon oneself,combines a sense of personal shame with the conservation of national security and gives the birth to the sense of'Everybody is responsible for the fate of his country.'A number of fearless heroes with the thought of'making a sacrifice for justice'were cultivated from this.It has become an important spiritual force to the revitalization of the Chinese nation.Therefore,it has an important reference value for the contemporary ideological and political education.
