With an exposition of the merits in elevated lines and LRT system, such as low cost, large capacity, less land use and high speed, the author argues that the urban mass transit will decrease the noise pollusion, increase the safety factors in operation and bring about new pieces of urban scenery. Meanwhile, the author insists that the construction of a transportation center, which is a decisive component in urban fast transportation, shall have a long- term planning, be designed with larger capacity and managed with a new model far different from that of the departments' separation.
