Differences and Similarities Between Chinese and English Conceptual Metaphor System

按照Lakoff和Johnson关于隐喻的分类,运用大量的英汉语语料对英汉语概念隐喻的异同进行了分析,英汉概念隐喻在结构隐喻体系、本体隐喻体系以及空间隐喻体系方面有相同的地方,也有不同的地方。造成这种情况的主要原因在于民族文化对隐喻的理解和构建有重大影响。

With the use of a large number of English-Chinese corpus, differences and similarities between Chinese and English conceptual metaphors are analysized in accordance with the classification of metaphors made by Lakoff and Johnson.Chinese and English conceptual metaphors have both similarities and differences in their structural metaphor system, ontological metaphor system and orientational metaphor system. The main reason for this is that cultural differences deeply affect the understanding and construction of metaphors in both languages.
