摘要
基于世界银行对中国1109家样本企业的调查数据,考察中国非上市企业管理者背景与企业绩效的相关性。研究表明,样本企业管理者的高学历背景和企业绩效有显著正相关性,并主要表现在管理者的长期任职阶段。管理者的海外教育背景、任职背景和选聘背景在总体上与企业绩效没有显著关系;但管理者在同一企业的短期和长期任职阶段,其政府选聘背景和海外教育背景分别与企业绩效有显著负相关性。
This paper empirically analyzes the correlation between the background of manager and finn performance based on the WB's survey data which includes 1109 non-listed-company samples in China. We find that education background of manager does have positive effect on firm performance, especially in the long-term stage of manager tenure. Meanwhile our result indicates that as a whole overseas education, exposition and appointment background of manager are not significantly related to firm performance. However, we find government appointment background and overseas education background are negatively related to firm performance in the short-term stage and the long-term stage of manager tenure respectively.
