Three Aspects of Classic Plays

中国古典戏剧是在散文、诗歌高度繁荣后才发展形成的一种文学体裁,因为有了诗歌创作丰富经验,所以古典戏剧艺术成就是非常巨大的,甚至可以说已臻极致,古典戏剧艺术主要表现在"主脑","关目"与"语辞"三个方面,这些成功艺术技巧不仅使我国古典戏剧达到辉煌的创作高峰,也为现代的文学创作提供了有益的借鉴。

Classic Chinese play is a genre emerging after the glory of essays and poetry. With the abundant experiences in the poetic creation, classic Chinese play developed very quickly and it even reached its perfection. The craftsmanship of classic Chinese play lies in three aspects： zhunao （the principal performer）, guanmu （the design of the plot in a play） and language. The successful craftsmanship not only pushed classic Chinese play creation to its peak, but also provided a model which modern play can use for reference.
