认知—功能视角下科技英语修辞及其汉译

A Cognitive-Functional Approach to Translation of Rhetoric Devices in Science & Technology English

修辞作为组织语言、促进语言交流的一种艺术和有效手段,存在于任何语言和语体当中,科技英语亦然。本文结合实例从认知—功能的角度对英汉科技翻译中常见的修辞手段及其汉译处理作了初步的探讨,并指出在科技英语修辞的汉译上,译者可采取异化处理,保留形象的方法;若采用异化或者异化加释义的方法行不通,可考虑使用归化法。

Rhetoric, as an art and effective means of organizing language and promoting the exchange of language, exists in any language variety, and science ＆ technology English is of no exception. This paper, from the perspective of cognition-function, makes a preliminary study of rhetoric devices and their English-Chinese translation in science ＆ technology articles based on examples. Furthermore, some practical techniques for translation of science ＆ technology English are presented.
